Steps to a Michelin Star, Rescuing a Country House through Hospitality

About James Hill

James Hill grew up watching his Mother and Father develop a beautiful English Inn into a 24 bedroom hotel, wedding and meeting venue. His mum’s home cooking fuelled his love of food that ultimately brought him back into the hospitality industry. After leaving a career in Health Care Management, James returned to his roots to develop and run Hampton Manor and Peel’s Restaurant, a successful Restaurant with Rooms. The family backed investment is set on a 45 acre estate with a range of other on going developments.

In 2008 the Hill Family purchased a former estate of Prime Minister, Sir Robert Peel. The house had been used as a care home for 50 years before closing as it was no longer fit for purpose. The challenge of building a sustainable turnover whilst pursuing a passion for food, beverage and hospitality took time, courage and deep pockets.

Enjoy the tales that took Peel’s Restaurant to a Michelin Star and 4 AA Rosettes . The 15 bedroom Restaurant with Rooms offers a range of other services including a dedicated venue for private parties, weddings and the corporate market.
